pandan cake singapore

one of my favourite things about living in singapore is just how close by the near and dear are. christie came over for tea bearing pierre hermes chocolate cake (!) and weylin popped by with her pandan chiffon. i broke out the brie and crackers and we perched by the island kitchen to while the afternoon away. love the spontaneity of having friends over, and thank god for friends who come by at the drop of a hat. i keep making a big deal out of how life and simple and sweet right now, how there are no responsibilities and for this next week at least, it is true :)

didn't manage to photograph the chocolate cake but here's a  (very bad and doesn't do it justice) shot of wey's chiffon. it's so very fragrant that in no time the whole place smelt of pandan. yummy! and a little birdie tells me that the secret to her pandan cake is in the lovingly hand-squeezed coconut milk. talk about labour of love! in fact, wey's so cool she's actually shared the recipe on her blog.

have a good week ahead. i'm off to nibble more cake...

  3. me too, bengawan solo is great as it is.

yes, that ramen post.... gosh. i cannot wait! only thing is, we missed the last round of sale fares of SQ for Tokyo. hopefully the discount comes round again... otherwise paying $400 more per person is really a huge hole in the pocket and might just jeopardise our trip altogether :(

  4. oh man! sorry to hear. sure there'll be another promo soon. and as long as your dates are flexible, there's bound to be the right fare for your right time. if possible, do try to fly into haneda instead. narita's a bit of a hike from the city centre. think haneda offer more like to pop up, too. they're trying to promote the route!
